Our Bella

June 25, 2015 - July 29, 2026 This page is dedicated to our beloved friend, Bella. She is in Heaven now, probaby chasing Molly, Georgia, Reggie or Suzie or visa versa. Or they are chasing rabbits, balls or other things.

Once again my hubby, Rick, and I had to make the extremely difficult decision to put another one of our beloved companions, Bella, to sleep. This is the fifth pet we've had to put to sleep due to their health reasons. Bella had been in terrible pain for several months, losing muscle density, dexterity, and dealing with hip dysplasia. We took her to the vet to be put to sleep on Monday, July 29th, 2026. Bella was still sharp as a tack, mental wise, but her body was giving out on her. She had fatty lumps in multiple areas of her body but at one point we had her back down to 85 pounds from over 100 pounds. Unfortunately she gained the weight back and it impacted her hip dysplasia. Unfortunately Bella's hips were giving out on her and we are afraid she would fall and break her neck or some other painful event that we didn't want her to experience. She had already collapsed on the floor in the house when she tried to get up a couple of times. She tripped up the stops a couple of times and hit her chin on the steps as well. Bella was our first full blooded registered Lab. Everyone, including all the Vets and the Techs at the Vet Hospital loved Bella because she had such a loving personality. If she saw you, she wanted you to pet, talk, and Love on her. We adopted Bella from a breeder in the Eaton, Ohio area. We picked one of a litter and we loved her from day one. She was a peace maker and she loved everyone. She would bet between Molly and Georgia when they had disagreements so they wouldn't get into a fight. She was an Alpha Dog but she exerted her presence in a calm but stern manner so she wouldn't get into a fight. She loved the outdoors, walks on the trails, and she kept me company when Debbie was working. She also kept me busy taking care of her. She loved watching the wildlife. She wanted to catch noe of the Road Runners or Lizards that ran around in the sand in the desert in Tucson. Bella also loved her treats. We give the babies an early evening treat and she would come over and sit on the floor and stare at you or nudge you until she got her treat. She loved playing with the laser light. We would sit outside at night and she would chase the light all over the yard. We had her cremated and brought her remains home and placed them with Georgia's, Molly's, Reggie's and Suzie's. At least that way they will always be together and with us. There will never be another Bella, just like there will never be another Georgia, Molly, Reggie or Suzie. May they rest in peace and play until we meet again.
